I have always thought that Africa's refinement began in Egypt until recently I discovered that it began in Nubia. The first substantial civilization was called Ta-Seti in 3500 BC. Ta-Seti was an antique Nubian empire located in the now-valley and it was the foremost sign of civilization and statehood in all of African history. They are believed to have spoken the Nilo Saharan language.
Ta-seti was defeated by a new group of people later called the Egyptians under King Narmer. Narmer is reputed to have unified all of Egypt, commencing the Pharaonic culture in Egypt and coagulating Egyptian singularity in the region. King Narmer infused Ta-Seti into the Egyptian state.
Around the 7th century BC, Phoenicians and Greeks began to inhabit the coastal areas of North Africa. These people are among the first significant non-Africans to dwell in North Africa. Then Romans started to subdue Berber nations in the far Northern parts of Africa and influenced the region. Nevertheless, the mass invasion that transformed North Africa was the Arab invasion around 640 AD. The Arabs conquered North Africa and circulated Islam.
The broadcasting of Islam altered the social and cultural dynamic into what exists today. As a consequence of North Africa's Islamization, its history began to change drastically. Islam and Slavery began to shape and build North Africa, transforming the population into a "melting pot style demographic".
